My Home Group
You may know it by names like House Group, Small Groups or Cell Groups. These names are used interchangeably to mean the same thing. Home Groups is the overarching name that includes our Home Group, Zoom Bible Study, Zoom Prayer Group and Bible Study.
Whatever you want to call it, these groups are held together by a common but biblical idea: Here at Kingsbury Baptist Church, a home group provides a smaller setting outside of the main gathering on Sundays, for a deeper meaningful and sustainable community to form.
It also serves as an intimate setting for further exploration of the main teachings or sermons, in a way that is not always possible, nor practical in a Sunday service.
Zoom Meetings
Alluded to in the introduction some home group activities take place in cyberspace via Zoom, especially for those living far away with desire to still remain connected with people they have come to know in profound ways.
From Zoom Bible studies to Zoom prayer time and generally touching base with one another. Whether it be locally, regionally, nationally or internationally, Zoom enables us to remain connected and sustain the fellowship and friendship built over time.
Home Group And Bible Study
In the context of in-person home group or Bible Study, there are no set typical activities but the following are commonplace here, at Kingsbury Baptist Church:
- Sharing a meal
- Praying together
- Studying the bible based on Sunday Service teaching
- Exploring an aspect of the Christian faith
- Catching up on one another’s news
- Praising and Worshipping God
- Studying a book together
In everything we do, the goal of the activities ultimately, centres around the discipleship of the group to mirror and reflect the distinctiveness of the LORD Jesus Christ and growing in love for God and for one another.

That is all there is to belong to our Home Groups. You can be part of something truly transformative while getting to build long lasting friendships fully immersed, in the truth and love of God.
